We had a FANTASTIC week last week with a record number of posts, more than 145 posts and they  just keep getting better!

Each week my co-hosts and I will feature our favorite bloggers from the previous week’s linkup. Visit each of my co-hosts to see who they’ve featured too. It’s getting harder to pick favorites over here.

Our Reader’s Choice for Featured Blogger this week was a tie:

Carissa Shaw from All in All wrote an excellent post called Parents, Stop Insulting Your Daughters. After seeing some disturbing comments to a video she saw at a gender reveal party, Carissa was inspired to tell us, “You’re not more of a woman if you produce a male child. You’re not less of a woman if you have no daughters. Love the life you live and love the people you share it with.” In an age where we are trying to stay positive and empower women, there’s no need to make negative comments against raising daughters. Well written post Carissa!

Grandma Chronicles is a first time Reader’s Choice winner and shared a story and giveaway of Raggedy Ann dolls. These classic dolls celebrated their 100th anniversary. Thanks Grandma Chronicles for linking up with us!

Some of my favorite posts this week were:

Where the Smiles have been shared these adorable Conversation Starter Stones and Printables. I’m gonna need to use these at dinner to steer clear away from video game chatter and other gross bodily functions. The only girl in the house can only take so much!

Zen WAHM reviews Still Alice by Lisa Genova. A book on my TBR and must see before watching the movie with Julianne Moore of course! What books to movie adaptations do you want to read? Do you have to read the book before seeing the movie like I do?

Faith, Hope and CherryTea’s Top Ten Inspiring Book Quotes with some great graphics. Some great ones from Mother Teresa, C.S. Lewis and Persuasion by Jane Austen (my favorite Austen book). What quotes from books inspire you? Anyone else like another Austen book better than Pride & Prejudice?

My Weekly Recap

I started and finished Legacy: An Anthology by some of the #30Authors from the event The Book Wheel hosted months ago. Each author wrote a fiction or nonfiction short story regarding the theme of legacy. I really enjoyed the book and my review was the first review on the blog tour. Pick up your copy on Amazon as proceed benefit PAWS for Reading, a non-profit encouraging kids to read to pets (my kids love when they get to read to the doggies at the library).

 hello from the gillespies

Still reading Hello from the Gillespies sporadically. The Travel the World in Books Reading Challenge Goodreads group voted to read a book from Australia for April/May and luckily this one will fit the bill.

diamond head

I will be starting Diamond Head by  Cecily Wong for a TLC Book Tour, the cover is stunning and looking forward to this mysterious book taking place in China and Hawaii.

I will be starting Silkworm for my IRL book club. I haven’t read The Cuckoo’s Calling but I hope this works as a standalone book. I’m looking forward to seeing how J.K. Rowling approaches a thriller/mystery.

I redesigned my blog a little, tell me constructively what you think.

Most Popular Post this Week: Lisa’s guest post on Self-Care: Loving Yourself and Letting Toxic People Go. She initiated important conversations all over social media. It was great supporting others who find themselves in similar situations.

Most Popular Pin this Week: Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake, you’ll want to pin this too, it’s a keeper and so easy.

I also received some great features:

  • Create with Joy featured me as her Friend of the Week on this week’s Friendship Friday Linkup
  • Hines-Sight Blog included my Britt’s Donuts photo in their Out and About NC post about Favorite NC Vacation Spots. It was a great week for Mom’s Small Victories!

  1. As a reader & a blogger I love link-ups! You have an amazing group of ladies posted. I hope to link up with you very soon. Take care & wonderful post! 🙂

  2. Hey there sorry to bother you. I am still new at this and I was wondering if you could send me the URL link for the featured button. I tried to copy and paste the text under the linky rules info and it keeps giving me an error. It may just be blogger acting crazy, but I really want to put the feature button on my page. Thanks again for featuring me last week and for hosting/cohosting the linkup! So glad I came across your page! Have a great week!

    • You can right click on the featured blogger picture and save it. Then link the picture back to my post so people know where the linkup is/you were featured.

  3. Tanya, Not sure if other readers are having trouble linking to one of your hosts blog Echo’s Domain of a Mad Mommy. Everytime I link it says the address is wrong or page doesn’t exist. I’ve been able to link to everyone elses but hers. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for hosting another week.
