My Weekly Recap

Reading:

The House of the Spirits Readalong by Isabel Allende. Travel the World in Books to Chile and join us to read this "epic novel of love, magic and fate." Hosted by: Mom's Small Victories, Lost in Books & Savvy Working Gal.

I’m reading The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende for our Travel the World in Books Readalong. We changed the date and our Twitter chat will be 9/15 at 9pm EST so join us to discuss using the hashtag #TraveltheWorldinBooks. It’s a unique book, reminds me of Wicked by Gregory Maguire, brilliant and yet sometimes disturbing in the storytelling.

3 bookish giveaways going on right now so don’t be shy and enter to win!

Review and GIVEAWAY of 2 copies of The Wife, The Maid and the Mistress by Ariel Lawhon on the blog through September. An intriguing mystery told from the perspective of complex women in a time when women were regarded as arm candy for powerful men. Maybe the men should not have underestimated these women!

I’m giving away 2 copies of The Wife, The Maid and The Mistress, a great historical mystery set in the glamour and turmoil of mafia era NYC. Enter to win one of 2 hardcover copies now (ends 9/30/15)!

Pattern of Lies by Charles Todd is an enjoyable historical mystery set in WWI England. Bess must solve who really caused the Ashton Powder Mill tragedy and she'll use her English charms and perseverance to solve it. 3*

One copy of Pattern of Lies (US only ends 9/19/15). A historical fiction about a WWI nurse who is determined to find the true culprit behind the Ashton Gun Powder Mill tragedy.
