Small Victories Sunday Linky {17} – The One with Shadow of the Wind and Everyday is a Picnic

Welcome to our Small Victories Sunday Linky!

This weekly post will recap for you the reading, cooking, health and personal goals I have been working towards this week and the achievements I’ve made both big and small. Each small victory brings me closer to achieving my personal goals for 2014. Focusing on my small victories has helped me gain a healthier and more positive attitude as I juggle my 3 boys and the physical impairment of Rheumatoid Arthritis (a chronic and incurable illness). I thought Sunday would be a perfect day to reflect on the week that passed and look forward to the week ahead. Please join me by linking up to 3 of your favorite family-friendly posts!

This Week’s Co-Host:

I am pleased to have Alecia from Detours in Life co-hosting with me for the next two weeks. Alecia is a fellow mom and Rheumatoid Arthritis patient, an avid cook and host of two fabulous linky parties on her blog, Tasty Tuesdays and Craft Frenzy Fridays. I can always count on her for delicious recipes, cooking and household tips or just an encouraging and empathetic word as we both endure RA. Be sure to check out her travel blog too, Road Trip Survival. She’s earned the Featured Blogger award here at Small Victories Sunday and I am happy to welcome her to our linky.

This Week’s Featured Blogger:

small victories sunday linky featured blogger 200x200 I’m happy to announce, the Featured Blogger this week for most number of clicks from the party, is Erlene from My Pinterventures who shared her Linky Party Basics for Hosts and Guests. Great advice and I love her linky party pages, she has lots of great linky parties listed that I’d like to join too. She also raises some good questions on whether it’s ok to have a separate linky page. Stop by and share your thoughts. Congrats Erlene, be sure to grab the Featured Blogger button to display on your blog and thanks for supporting our linky.

Make sure to visit my co-host Alecia, to see who she featured!

My Weekly Recap and Next Week’s Goals:

shadow of the wind

I am still loving Shadow of the Wind. It’s been a physically tiring week with all the outdoor fun we’ve been having so I have not gotten as far as I would’ve liked. Let’s hope I can get some catching up done during Dewey’s 24 hour readathon!

I am listening to Blown Circuit on audiobook for a blog tour next week. In this sequel to Lethal Circuit, CIA Agent Michael Chase is back and in deep water in Turkey. I am pleasantly surprised by some aspects of this audiobook and the culture in which it is set. But you’ll have to wait for my full review next week!

Ok, so I totally bombed on my meal plan from last week. We spent lots of time at the playground and having picnics, the weather was too beautiful to pass up.

Last Week’s Menu Plan:

    • Cinnamon Roll Waffles– kids wanted these 2 days in a row, easy breakfast!
    • Leftover Crock Pot Ham in ham/cream cheese rollups for kid’s school lunch, ham and cheese scrambled eggs for breakfast and ham, bacon and avacado on ciabatta sandwiches for lunch at home.
    • Italian Sausage Lasagna, Ciabatta with Olive Oil and dipping spices and Salad with Cilantro-Lime Salad Dressing. All the boys gave me big hugs they loved dinner so much.
    • Kids eat free on Tuesdays at one of our favorite restaurants so I took Superhubby up on the offer to eat out 🙂

Next Week’s Menu Plan:

Next week’s blogging plan:

    • Blown Circuit audiobook blog tour
    • Co-hosting Throwback Thursday so get your pins and old posts ready!
    • April achievements and May goals

    • Reached 500 Facebook likes! Please stop by and give my page a like, and don’t forget to mark to “get notifications” from my page. Only a small fraction of people are seeing my posts. We had a fun discussion about who you are if you are the main character in the last book you read. Very diverse reading group here!
    • We had a picnic everyday! For breakfast, lunches and dinners, we spent as much time eating on the deck as we could. Beautiful weather.
    • I saved $53 and spent $20 on groceries using sales and coupons.

  1. Hi, Tanya –

Nice to see you on Twitter! I did not write a single blog post on any of my 3 blogs last week (except my Monday reading post) so have nothing to link up this week. We also spent a lot of time outdoors – went camping mid-week during my son’s spring break.

It’s great that Small Victories Sunday has become so popular! I look forward to it every week 🙂

    • Thanks so much Sue, glad you enjoy the linky. And just so you know, your posts don’t have to be from this week, they can be old ones too, they are new to us 🙂 And a good way to get new traffic on old posts.

  2. I’m really thrilled that I was chosen as a featured blogger. Thank you so much. There are some changes coming to My Pinterventures and it’s been a hectic week for me and this was just the good news that I needed. Your linky party button is featured. Have a super weekend.
