Welcome to our Small Victories Sunday Linky!

This weekly post will recap for you the reading, cooking, health and personal goals I have been working towards this week and the achievements I’ve made both big and small. Each small victory brings me closer to achieving my personal goals for 2014. Focusing on my small victories has helped me gain a healthier and more positive attitude as I juggle my 3 boys and the physical impairment of Rheumatoid Arthritis (a chronic and incurable illness). I thought Sunday would be a perfect day to reflect on the week that passed and look forward to the week ahead. Please join me by linking up to 3 of your favorite family-friendly posts!

My Weekly Recap and Next Week’s Goals:

READING:

shadow of the wind

I am still loving Shadow of the Wind. I’m about 35% through the book and I can’t read it quickly enough. It’s mysterious, mesmerizing and just beautifully written.

20000-leagues-under-the-sea

Listening to Blown Circuit for a blog tour last week, made me realize how much I enjoyed audiobooks. So I downloaded 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne from the library, one of my Classics Club Book List selections. It was a very dry start, but now that they are on the voyage and searching for the infamous sea monster, it’s getting better. Hope I can survive the voyage!

COOKING:

Ok, so I totally bombed on my meal plan from last week. We spent lots of time at the playground and having picnics, the weather was too beautiful to pass up.

THANKFUL FOR SMALL VICTORIES:

  • Received a Liebster Award from Jennine at My Life in Books. Such an honor since I’m a big fan of her book review blog. Thanks Jennine!
  • We sold some old kids’ clothes and baby stuff. Feels good to get them out of the house but sad my babies have grown up so quick! I am still drowning in a sea of toys and selling the baby toys are up next!
  • We celebrated Free Comic Book Day. Each kid got a stash of about 20 free comics. Our local store had a live band, the kids dressed up as superheroes and played tag, and kids got autographed illustrations made just for them by a comic book artist. He could only do pictures for 2 of our kids because the line was so long, my oldest told him to draw it for his 2 little brothers, and the artist gave him a free book of his sketches for being such an “awesome big brother”. My oldest is a big fan of his and was pretty excited.
  • I signed up for Remistart, Remicade’s Patient Assistance Program, two years ago. I never submitted the EOB to receive assistance. With my change in insurance since becoming a SAHM, I am responsible for $2,800. Thankfully Remistart is helping me pay it. A huge help and big relief! If you are a Remicade patient, check out this program and see if your doctor’s office can help you complete paperwork.

    Tanya,
It’s exciting watching your linky grow. 72 posts! Impressive. Comic book day sounded like fun. My boys would have liked that. Have a great week. :)
