small victories sunday link 9 Welcome to Small Victories Sunday! This weekly post will recap for you the reading, cooking, health and personal goals I have been working towards this week and the achievements I’ve made both big and small. Each small victory brings me closer to achieving my personal goals for 2014. Focusing on my small victories has helped me gain a healthier and more positive attitude as I juggle my 3 boys and the physical impairment of Rheumatoid Arthritis (a chronic and incurable illness). I thought Sunday would be a perfect day to reflect on the week that passed and look forward to the week ahead. Please join me by linking up to 3 of your favorite family-friendly posts! But first, let’s recap the great linkup we had last week. Thanks to the 33 links that were posted last week, we had a fantastic variety of posts. Did you see the great recipes that bloggers shared like Hippie Hash, Tamale Pie, Homemade Mac and Cheese and the Double Chocolate Mint Oreos Cookies? What about the tips of reviving old blog posts, how to homeschool for preschool or the ways to make your own household cleaners? I especially love that a couple bloggers celebrated their personal and blog birthdays with us. Happy Birthday Rachel from Fit Triangle Mom who’s having a birthday blog hop and Melinda from The Book Musings, who’s celebrating with a giveaway! Keep up the great work and share your posts with us! Don’t forget to stop by our Small Victories Sunday Awesomeness Board on Pinterest for links to all the posts that have linked up so far!   small victories sunday linky featured blogger 200x200 I’m happy to announce, the Featured Blogger this week for most number of clicks from the party, is Farah from High Heels and Training Wheels shared I’m Coming Out, revealing her personal journey and true identity. My Weekly Recap and Next Week’s Goals:

first darling of the morningHP and the goblet of fire I finished First Darling of the Morning by Thrity Umrigar. A moving memoir about the author’s childhood growing up in India. I’m reading it for Savvy Working Gal’s nonfiction book club and look forward to seeing what everyone thought of it.   We are reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for my IRL book club, where moms and kids who read the book, discuss it. I better get crackin’, my son is finished and on to the next one, I’m 20% through, I didn’t realize what a chunkster this is at 700 pages.

I had to tweak my original menu plan a little but we succeeded in not eating out last week! Here’s what we had:

Next week’s menu plan includes:

    • French Banana Pancakes
    • Eggs with Hash Brown Casserole
    • Oatmeal with blueberries
    • Greek Yogurt parfaits
    • Philly Cheesesteaks and tater tots
    • Salmon Quesadillas with Mexican Rice and corn
    • Beef Stroganoff with Egg Noodles and Salad

Last week:

    • Nada! I was so busy with the party and was not feeling well last week so I didn’t blog at all!

Next week’s blogging plan:

    • We had a fantastic Superhero party for my Superstar. Despite the threat of freezing rain the morning of our party at the park, the weather started out cold and luckily warmed up quickly. We brought hot chocolate and hot coffee to warm up the parents and the kids were having a blast and dressed in costume so didn’t seem to mind!
    • I made cupcakes and decorated them for the first time since Superstar was born!
    • The party ended at 3 pm but our family and friends were having so much fun, we stayed an extra 2 hours!

  1. […] Last week, I had a goal to get 50 links and you all helped me smash it with 62 links. Thanks to each and every one of you! • Thanks Carie for linking up your tasty recipes! Yes, I like to have the linkup open all week because I know we are all busy. Hope you were able to visit some other bloggers too! Join in again next week!

    • Well I was announcing who the featured blogger is from last week 🙂 (i am the linky host). Thanks, my one friend kept missing book club because we were discussing the usual literary fiction/classics and she couldn’t get the night off without the kids. We wanted her to come back and knew she loved HP. Since the other members hadn’t read it, we decided to read through the series. She comes with her 3 kids and I come with my oldest. It is fun and we actually spend more time discussing the books. 🙂 Its taking awhile to get through the series but its a lot of fun.

    • Thanks Jill. The party was a blast, I forgot how much I enjoy throwing kid’s birthday parties! I hope you come back and link up 3 of your links (including your Pinterest party, if you like). The linky is growing and I love meeting new-to-me bloggers 🙂 I appreciate your support.

    • I wish you could find time too! It’s a delightful series. If it weren’t for the Kindle and being able to read in the dark after everyone else is in bed, I wouldn’t get any reading done! Thanks for linking up! I hope you link up a couple more posts!

    • Yes, things were kind of chaotic when I wasn’t sure whether our party would get rained out and I’d have 30 kids at my house! I wasn’t feeling well so I went with the easy cupcakes but I will make your recipes for Superstar’s actual birthday because I realy want to try it! So glad you linked up 3 of your posts this week!
