My Thoughts:
I am a big fan of The Dose of Reality Girls so when they said they had an essay in a book coming out, I knew I had to check it out. Then I saw the title “I Just Want to Pee Alone” and as a mom of 3 boys, I laughed out loud and shouted “hell, yeah!” the moment I read it. You moms out there know exactly what it feels like to lose all sense of humility and privacy the minute the doctor confirms you’re pregnant…and your life and bathroom company may never be the same.
If you’re a mom or a mom-to-be, this is a hilarious collection of short stories about motherhood. Each mom blogger brings a very dynamic, honest, heartfelt and downright funny moments of motherhood. From the challenges of sleepless nights with a newborn, the constant battle with a teenager keeping their room clean, to becoming their mothers, these moms have covered it all, the good, the bad and the ugly. Things you might not have ever thought would happen to you…until it does.
I think this would make a great gift for any mom or mom-to-be with a sense of humor. Or perhaps for a woman who has not decided whether to have kids, this book could very well be birth control. It will certainly stir up interesting conversations!
On a personal level, as little guys, my boys served as our personal bathroom valets. Whenever a little one wandered in with me, he would insist on providing me reading material from the magazine rack on the floor. Really no, that’s ok honey, didn’t quite suffice to convince him. Recently at the pool, the youngest crawled under the bathroom stall we were in and almost into the next one before I got his little leg. Luckily, it was just his older brother he was invading, but can you imagine had it been another woman? Those are my stories and they are tame compared to the stories in this book but it’s worth a good laugh! My embarrassing labor and delivery stories will have to be for another day.

Hiya Missy. lol, 4 boys? And I thought I was busy. I absolutely love the tough little guy in your profile picture, what a doll! And oh I know what you mean, everything is an emergency. My husband started asking the kids “Where’s the blood?” In other word, no blood, no emergency. However, it backfired when kid stepped on my foot once and I reacted in pain and the kid asked me “where’s the blood?”…turkeys 🙂
I can’t claim the little guy in the photo. He’s uncredited 😉 Yes 4 boys. The 5 year old keeps me busier than the other three put together. We also ask “Are you beeding? Any bones broken?” Lol

The title of this book CRACKS ME UP! I know I said that numerous times when my kids were small, lol.
It is funny, even writing the review last night, I was still laughing. And some of the stories? Well, let’s just say they are quite memorable. One of the few books I will re-read to get a good belly laugh!
