March 2015 Reading, Blogging and Home Goals

March 2015 Reading, Blogging and Home Goals by Mom's Small Victories. Goal setting is key in achieving my 2015 goals. Linkup your goals with us and achieve them, one small victory at a time.

Setting my goals at the beginning of the month helps me focus on what I specifically want to accomplish in my reading, blogging and home life. It’s also a good time to reflect on the past month, what I accomplished and what is still left to work on. We have a linkup too to support one another in our quest to achieve our goals, so if you have a blog post or goals you are shooting for, linkup with us or leave your goals in the comments.

February Achievements

Reading:

* Read 4 books (that’s a pretty good month for me!):
1. The Wife, The Maid and the Mistress by Ariel Lawhon for my book club
2. The Last Breath by Kimberly Belle (International Giveaway open until 3/3/15 11:00pm EST)
3. First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen for several reading challenges. A foodie read but took place in NC so didn’t count for my Foodie February Challenge.
4. Love, Lies and Lemon Cake by Sue Watson for several reading challenges, Foodie February and Travel the World in Books Reading Challenges since it was set in England and Greece.

Blogging:

* 20 posts

* 7,900 page views (didn’t quite meet my 10,000 pageview goal)

* Pinterest took over the #1 spot for referrals to my blog this month, even more than search! I attribute it to implementing strategies learned during Pinning Perfect– a Pinterest ecourse (affiliate link) in January. My average daily clicks from my blog increased 138% and my average daily visitors increased 108% since taking the class. I love seeing results in the numbers! Class registration ends 3/5/15, so sign up now (and tell them I sent you). I highly recommend it!

* Surpassed my goal of 20 new email subscribers, thanks for subscribing! And if you haven’t yet, just enter your email in my sidebar to get posts delivered to your inbox.

* Small Victories Sunday Linkup hosts are set and ready to go. Stay tuned for the announcement this Sunday when our linkup gets bigger, better and brighter and parties on 8 blogs! You won’t want to miss it.

Home:

* Finished the 2015 budget.

* Reorganized my overflowing Family Favorites Cookbook. It took a few hours one snow day afternoon, it was no easy feat!

* Started using cash for groceries.

* I have 100 recipes now in Plan to Eat menu planning tool (affiliate link). Loving this program and getting my recipes in here so menu plans and shopping lists are generated with just a few clicks.

  1. Tanya, thanks for sharing your post with us at The Book Nook at Create With Joy! I always enjoy seeing what you’re up to (in both your personal life as well as on the blog). It’s been such a pleasure to watch your blog grow during the time we’ve known one another – onwards and upwards! 🙂

    Look forward to reading your review on Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet! 🙂

  2. Always shooting for more pageviews…never ending goal! LOL! I am so ready for gardening season too, we have 3 large raised beds plus+, cannot wait to get into the dirt. You are planting a good variety, I am sure that you will enjoy it. We still have a lot of snow on the ground, but it is warming up this week, I can’t wait! Thanks for hosting this great link-up!

  3. Great goals, Tanya. You’re pageviews are phenomenal! I’m tackling our taxes this weekend. Thanks for sharing your goals on #SmallVictoriesSunday link up.

  4. I’m shooting for 10,000 views too. I love to read too, but haven’t been able to find a good book lately. I start one, usually the free ones you can download, and then I end up not finishing it. I love using cash for groceries. Great post.

    1. Thanks Tammy. Good luck getting your 10 this month. I have a mountain of books and a fully loaded Kindle. I am always reading something. I can’t read fast enough! Thanks for stopping by and commenting, I appreciate the support.

  5. I love these goals. I’m so eager to take that class!! I just have to get the funds gathered to take it. I haven’t used/taken anything of her’s that wasn’t good!

    These books sound fun to read. I am a huge book lover. This week I get to read for me, and oddly enough I have been going through all of my books unsure which one I want to dig into.

    1. Blog Clarity is great! I’ve done Content Brew and Pinning Perfect and still need to work through Blog Design for Dummies. I think I might be a groupie 🙂

      Yay for reading for you time. What did you pick or what were your choices?

  6. Wow, good for you! You are really doing well in all areas of your goals!

    I LOVED Hotel on the Corner of Bitter & Sweet, so I hope you enjoy it, too. It was our all-county reads book a few years ago, so I also got to hear Jamie Ford speak – so entertaining!

    Have a wonderful March!

    Book By Book

    1. Thanks Sue!! I can’t wait to get to it. Must get off the computer and read faster! I have heard nothing but amazing things about Hotel.

  7. I’m so impressed! You are rockin the blogging world! I took the pinterest course last year but I haven’t implemented all of the ideas….or really any of them; however, this year I WILL be successful in accomplishing my goals ~ I love how you’ve outlined everything in your post. I do believe I’ll join you in April for a goals post 😉

    A sidebar note ~ have you ever taken a Coursera course? I’m taking the Australian Lit course this month (phenomenal!) and as y’all do the travel around the world lit I thought you might be interested ~ it’s a free course…. https://www.coursera.org/course/auslitroughguide
