Recipe Review: Slow Cooker Baked Beans

This recipe is from Crock-pot.com and only tastes like I spent all day making it. I don’t normally remember recipes but I do remember this one since it’s so simple and I make it often for family and friends. If we have leftovers,  they disappear quickly!

RA Ease of Prep Rating: 4 of 5 stars, it takes a little more chopping and can opening than other slow cooker recipes

Ingredients
Two 16 oz cans baked beans, drained
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1 1/2 tsp prepared mustard
5 slices cooked Bacon crumbled
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Preparation
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.  Cover and cook on low 8 to 12 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
Enjoy!

  1. I suffer from osteoarthritis in my hips and degenerative disc disease in my hips so I can certainly understand the pain issues and celebrating small victories!

    Love my crockpot and anytime I can make a meal in it, thats win-win for me. One pot to clean and less stress with preperation.

    1. Sorry to hear of your osteo and degenerative disc disease Chrystal. Too bad it took me getting RA to better appreciate my small victories, but better late than never!

      I love my crockpot too! Somehow I can’t contain the mess to one pot because I usually brown meat or mix sauce or something in another dish. But that’s ok. It’s easier to start the crockpot during the day when I have the energy versus standing at the stove at dinnertime with hungry kids afoot.
