The Reader’s Choice this week was my blog but Fit Triangle Mom’s guest post about Getting Started Blogging – 4 Tips to Make Your Blog SOAR that earned the top spot. You can grab the Featured Blogger button Fit Triangle Mom, it was your helpful post that earned it! What blogging tips do you have to help new bloggers starting out?
Some of my favorite posts this week were:
Where the Smiles Have Been who shared this gorgeous Spring Easter Egg Wreath. Do you ever wonder what it’s really like to make something off Pinterest. Well, Christine made this yarn-wrapped Easter Egg wreath..and the honest truth about this Pinworthy project. What Pinterest projects have you attempted that were harder than you thoughts they’d be?
Book by Book who shared Top 10 Childhood Books I’d Like to Revisit. Nancy Drew would be on my list too and Agatha Christie novels. I was quite the mystery buff as a kid! What books from your childhood would you like to reread?
Little Blog on the Homestead who shared Blueberry Rum Punch. I love blueberries and this cocktail looks refreshing and perfect for a spring Happy Hour! What kind of cocktails, beer or wine are your favorites?
My Weekly Recap
Reading:
I paused reading Shadow of the Wind for our Travel the World in Books Readalong so that I could finish up Mademoiselle Chanel for a TLC Book Tour this week. I didn’t quite get done with it in time but not because I wasn’t enjoying it. I loved living vicariously in the world of high fashion and it motivated me to pull out my book journal to jot down beautiful and inspiring quotes. Check out what I had to say in my Mademoiselle Chanel discussion.
I finished Swimming through Clouds by Rajdeep Paulus, a YA story about Talia, a mixed Indian-South African girl who is being abused by her tyrannical father and the boy who tries to get close to her. This book made me realize what kind of reader I am and not sure this book fit my reading style.
Blogging:
In case you missed it, here’s what I blogged about. Not much going on this week as I thoroughly enjoyed myself on Spring Break!
- [30 Mar] International Women Authors Guest Post at I’m Lost in Books
- [31 Mar] Sit Down and Write 6 Goals and Accomplishments
- [2 Apr] Mademoiselle Chanel by C.W. Gortner ★★★★★
- [3 Apr] Be Our Guest Fridays {24}: Relearning Friendships by Jennine from My Life in Books
- [4 Apr] Small Victories Sunday Linkup {44}
Home/Exercising:
I tried getting a phone app to track my steps and walked while my kids were playing at the playground. I also worked hours in the yard, finishing up our square foot garden with my two little helpers.
With Superhubby’s amazing persistence and a mean pick axe, we cleaned up our weeds that looked like trees and actually planted some azaleas and phlox. Yay, finally some pops of color in our yard. I can’t wait for these lovelies to grow, take that weeds!
