Spring 2014 Bloggiesta Goals and Accomplishments
It’s time to sign up for one of my favorite blogging events, the Spring 2014 Bloggiesta! Bloggiesta is a long weekend dedicated to working on our blog to-do lists, learn ways to improve our blogs and network with other bloggers. While it is started by book bloggers and many participants blog about books, anyone can join in.
I don’t have as much time to dedicate to Bloggiesta this weekend, so I am keeping my goals list simple and my 6 highest priority items.
Goals
1. Clean up categories and tags
2. Clean up sidebar
3. Do 1-2 mini challenges (probably next week)
4. Set up newsletter through Mail Chimp or Mad Mimi
5. Make Blog Hop/Linky Party Page
6. Update genres for book reviews to get index by genre active
Accomplishments
1. Cleaned up sidebar and made separate widget for my blog and linky buttons.
2. Created a separate Blog Hops and Linky Parties page
3. Started working on my Mail Chimp newsletter but it was too confusing. Need more time to focus on it.
4. Completed mini-challenges:
A couple of the mini-challenges I need to come back to include:
Well that’s it for me. What’s on your blog to-do list? What blogging events do you participate in? If you are joining in Bloggiesta, leave me a link and I will pay you a visit!
YAY for working on your list! It always feels good when you can check something off a to-do list!
Thank you for linking up to #throwbackthursdaylinkup
Yes Angel! Confession: sometimes I wrote things down on my weekly planner that I have already done, just so I can check it off! 🙂 I love co-hosting #ThrowbackThursdaylinkup and thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
Love the list and these ideas! I’m really just now getting focused intently on my blog so I need all the help I can get! #throwbackthursdayslinkup
You are always so organized and I LOVE reading through your lists, especially the blogging items! Mail Chimp is very confusing to me, too! Still trying to figure out adding a newsletter.
Thanks Bonnie, I love making lists and love the satisfaction of checking items off of it. Yea, I wanted Mail Chimp for the linky reminders that I thought would be easy enough but alas, I need to spend a little more time on it.
Wow! You’ve got big plans! I never get as much done as I plan to; this time I was sure would be different but no such luck.
Great list, I wish you luck!
Thanks Stephanie, you too! Thanks for stopping by.
Indexing by genre is an awesome idea! Maybe next time I will tackle that one 🙂 I hope you get everything accomplished, Good luck 😀
Thanks Lauren, its part of the UBB plugin I purchased. I just have too many genres and gotta narrow them down so the index looks nicer. Thanks for stopping by. I have gotten more done than I thought I could. But the mail chimp stuff is giving me a hard time.
Good luck with your Bloggiesta goals! It’s my first year and I’m starting off with a small list.
Thanks C.J. Welcome to Bloggiesta and I hope you enjoy yourself and have a productive weekend! My list is small too, short and sweet means we can get it done! Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you again soon to see how you are doing.
Great goals! I keep a running list on Google Keep that has all the things I’d like to do with my blog….now if only I had the time to do them all!
I haven’t heard of Google Keep. I know what you mean, I know there are a ton of things I should do, just not enough time to do them all.
I definitely prefer short and simple lists that I feel like I can accomplish… but when I went to type mine out, it was a lot longer than it felt in my head! Good luck this weekend!
Lol, I am the same way. Originally I had to clean up categories and sidebar. Then slowly added the other things.
Good luck to you too! Hope you get them all done.
What a great event. I am a big fan of structure, order, and all-over anal retentiveness. Good luck with your spring cleaning and improvements! I may have to steal a few of these for myself 🙂
Lol, me too. Any chance you are a Virgo?
Love how short your list is. Good luck on your list! Happy Bloggiesta!!
Thanks, we have plans this weekend so my list is about three times as long as I had planned when I started.
Good luck, blog maintenance is good, I really should join and finish up some projects I have 🙂
I hope you do!
Among other things, I plan to map out my blog posts for the month of April. Thanks for spreading awareness of this event!
You’re welcome Jennifer. I wish I could get ahead like that too. I feel like I am blogging day to day.
I love how you prioritized your list. My list is very long. Good luck!
Thanks Brianna, I meant to join in on the review-a-thon you hosted recently. I need to get in on the next one. When is it?
I didnt know about this event. Im going to check into it thanks!
Great Tess, let me know if you join in!
Great list! Bloggiesta is one of my favorite events, too!
I know, I wish I had more time to participate. I am going to miss the twitter chats and that’s one of my favorite parts!
Btw–I just set up a template to start a newsletter through mailchimp. I will hopefully do my first one next Wednesday. I will save MadMimi for if I ever do one for The Ultimate Linky.
Why are you using two different services? I looked at mad mimi but have to read what the free version entails. Is mail chimp free?
Tanya, Tanya, you didn’t tell me! 🙂 I have to do so much blogging this weekend. I have to get all the htmls for my cohosts for the next month ready plus a bigger giveaway for people who are going in with me ready plus 2 posts where I am a contributor! I’m in trouble!
Sorry Tammy! I hope you join up and knock out the to do list with us! I don’t know how you keep up with all the linkies! I host two regularly and then co-host the Pinterest one with you and its hard to keep up. Sometimes I am up at 3 am blogging. Do you ever sleep? 🙂 good luck with your to do list!
