Wrap-up and final thoughts:
Well although I didn’t stick to the original list exactly, I am pretty happy that I netted having read more books than I thought I would (and I hardly read anything the past two weeks, yikes). I loved most of the books I read during the spring. I also like that this list holds me accountable for those books I need to finish writing my thoughts on so we can discuss.
It’s about time for me to make a summer reading list, with all the books I won from various bloggers during Armchair BEA, that will keep me plenty busy all summer! I can’t wait to share those with you, there are some amazing books in this stash.
Have you read any of the books on my Spring Reading list? What did you think of them? What’s on your Summer Reading List? Hope you’ll share your thoughts with me in the comments, I’d love to hear from you! Happy reading!
I always love the books you read – esp your takes on the classics!
Just posted my final list as well.
Have a great weekend Tanya!
You did GREAT!! I’ve read many, many books from your list and loved them!! I will say that I was REALLY glad that Sarah’s Key had the present sequences intermingled with the chapters from the past. I found the parts from the past were so intense, I couldn’t have read a book JUST about them. It would have been so draining. The chapters set in the present gave me a breather (although they were depressing in their own way)!
I am almost finished with a book that I am in LOVE with completely. It’s just charming. It’s called “The 100 Year Old Man Who Went Out the Window and Disappeared” by Jonas Jonasson. –Lisa
Your list does sound interesting 🙂 Glad you were able to read some on your list. I am impressed you belong to many different reading lists.
Hope to see you in the Fall 🙂
Great Job Tanya, I have Sarah’s Key on my shelf to read. Of course Little Women is one of my favorites. I fell in love with The Great Gatsby in college. I haven’t decided on my summer list just yet. I unpacked two boxes of books to try to read this summer. We moved last month into a smaller place. I have books still in storage. Plus I brought home 10 books from school and have a few professional development books I want to work on. I am looking forward to seeing what you read this summer. Either way, have fun with your reading. I have the linky up so I already posted your url to the new linky. Thank you.
Thanks for adding my post to the linky Sandra! This was such a great challenge!
Wish I would’ve seen this one and participated. I like to make a list and then see where my reading actually takes me! Good lists!
Thanks Jennine. I am the same way, I love making lists and especially love crossing things off! I took a bit of a detour but I had a few great months of reading. Let’s hope I can keep it up for the summer! I told Sandra (the hostess) that I needed to go ahead and make my summer reading list to help me stay on track. It’s so easy to forget what books I’ve already got when something new and tempting comes along.
Sounds like a fun challenge – you really read some good books this spring!
If you are looking for some inspiration for summer, check out my Big Book Summer Challenge! It’s super-relaxed and easy – just read at least 1 book of 400 pages or more before September to participate. Hope you decide to join in the fun!

Hi Sue! Wow, a 400 page book. I do have Pillars of the Earth on my Classics Club reading list. If I decide to tackle it, I’ll link up! FYI-every time I click on your links I get an error message (it seems there’s a ” mark after each link so if I delete that, then I can get to the site you’re trying to show me)>
Oh, my gosh – all this time using those links, and no one bothered to tell me they don’t work! THANK YOU!! I have fixed all of them and really appreciate you taking the time to let me know.
Pillars of the Earth would be perfect for the challenge! That was actually the book I read 2 summers ago that gave me the idea for the challenge – it’s fabulous and well-worth the time!
Thanks again –
Sue

you are very welcome Sue. I saw you had taken on Pillars of the Earth and I’ve heard such rave reviews about it. I really do need to get it done!
I picked up a copy of 7 Habits long ago, but never actually read it. The only one I’ve read from this list was Wicked, and I was not a fan. Good luck with the challenge!
I fixed it. Thanks. I needed to fix mine as well and by doing yours I learned how to edit Mr. Linky. This is my first time using it.
You have two entries. Did you want me to delete one of them?
oops sorry about that Sandra! I tried deleting the one that had Treasure Island at the end of my name. Mr. Linky remembered the last time I linked a post 🙂 Yes, please delete the one with Treasure Island after my name. Sorry for the trouble.
I haven’t read any of the books on your list but look forward to checking them out. Good luck and have fun with this challenge. I’ll be checking in occasionally.
Thanks Sandra, I’m glad you asked for a list of books, it’s good to get down on paper all the books I plan to read for my various book clubs and reading challenges so I don’t lose sight of anything. At least I can cross Sarah’s Key off my list, sounds like Wicked is going to take me a while to get through.
