The Great Feed Reader Debate

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

As part of a Bloggiesta Mini-Challenge hosted by The Picky Girl, Jenn outlines the various feed readers since the announcement that Google reader is shutting down.

My two favorites are the WordPress reader that I can copy sites I want to follow into (even if it’s not hosted by WP) and well, Bloglovin. So this post is to claim my blog on Bloglovin. A girl’s got to do what she’s got to do. I setup Bloglovin to send me daily emails so that I can access them from my Android phone and comment on blogs I enjoy. It’s easy enough to do when I’ve got a few spare moments to catch up with my favorite blogs.

What’s your preferred blog reader?

    1. I just wish Bloglovin would let you know when my comment has a reply on a blog I visited like WP reader does. I am still having trouble with getting comment replies on blogs that have Blogger. What are the features that you love about Bloglovin besides all your blogs are in one place? Maybe I’m missing something.

      1. Yeah, Bloglovin doesn’t do that. Since I’m logged into WP (my blog is WP), WP will tell me when I have a comment. Then, if I want to know if my comment has a reply, I have to subscribe to each blog comment. Like for yours, I have to subscribe each time I comment so I know when you reply.

        1. Actually since we are both on WP you don’t have to subscribe to my post comments to know when I respond to your comment on my posts. If you go to the WP reader, it will notify you of my reply. I’ll have to see if I can send you a screenshot to explain it. I just wish i would get the same notifications when I comment on a Blogger blog and the blogger replies.

    1. Awesome, thanks! I’m following you on my WP reader AND Bloglovin! Really been enjoying your blog and glad to have met ya through Bloggiesta!

  1. I sorted my “find a new reader” problem today – went with Feedly and even found out how to subscribe to feeds directly from Chrome. I’m a happy woman now I’ve got that sorted.

    1. Awesome, it feels so good to get organized and problems tackled, doesn’t it? Simple things like that make me happy too..small victories 🙂

      Have a great night!

  2. Hey there!

Looks like you are doing really well! Awesome!

I just love bloglovin’! I think you are my first real follower! Yay!

Im looking forward to following! Hope to see you on the chat tonight.

    1. I am honored to be your first real follower, I love being involved in those kind of milestones for fellow bloggers 🙂

      Have a good week!

    1. Hey Allison, guess I need to download the Bloglovin app to get the full use out of it. Sometimes hard to comment through just the browser on my phone.

    1. Hi Jenn, I thought I could put all my blogs into WP so they would be in one place? It seemed to work for me, but maybe I need to go through my list and make sure all the blogs are coming through the feed.

    1. Awesome, thanks! I followed you back through Bloglovin (although already following through WordPress Reader too)! Can never be to sure which one I check first. How’s your Bloggiesta-ing going? Seems like you’ve visited lots of blogs Jennifer, I don’t think I’ve been to one yet where you had not commented already.

      1. I’ve had a great Bloggiesta 🙂 I’ve commented EVERYWHERE, lol. That’s one of my fave things to do, as you can see!

I want to join in the last twitter chat today but I don’t think I’ll make it. It’s my baby’s 13th birthday and we have some celebrating to do 😉

        1. Jennifer, that is great! I was trying to visit everyone this morning…Just got through about 30 and my laptop and I need a breather.

Happy birthday to your baby and a great way to end Bloggiesta work with some fantastic partying! Wishing you a great day and thanks for being a faithful reader and commenter on my blog. I appreciate your friendship.
