Travel the World in Books joins Nonfiction November 2015
I hope you enjoyed the fun we’ve been having with the Travel the World in Books Readathon. We talked over at my co-host Becca’s blog the other day about nonfiction books that we’ve read or want to read to explore our world. Since Becca is hosting Nonfiction November next month, I thought it would be a great time to join in the fun and encourage our Travel the World in Books participants to read nonfiction as well.

My Nonfiction November Goals
I’ve been wanting to read I am Malala for awhile now so my goal is to read that and participate in the readalong discussion hosted by Katie from Doing Dewey during Nonfiction November. My oldest son also wants to read it and I think it will make for some important discussions with him.
If I can get my hands on For the Right to Learn by Rebecca Langston, I’ll be reading this with my younger two sons. Thanks to Lovely Bookshelf for letting me know about this book.
If I can get through Malala during the month, I’ll try out Persepolis also. Isi was reading it for our Travel the World in Books Readathon about a girl’s childhood in Iran and it seems to go along well with Malala. Since it’s a graphic novel, hopefully it will be a quick and important read to understand the plight of women across the world.

Oh yay! Thanks for joining in with us 🙂 I love how much you do for Travel the World in Books and would like to do better keeping up with it. There’s just always so much going on, I’ve been doing a bad job of it. Hopefully next year I’ll have graduated and have more time!
Aw, thanks Katie. I love the Travel the World challenge and making it flexible so participants can make it as hard or easy on themselves as they want. I need to get to reading Malala!

Hope you like the book – I’m sure you will. You’ll learn about the recent history of Iran, as well as the problems the author faced due to being “different” from their peers in Europe.
You’re welcome Isi, my nonfiction reading has been derailed a bit but I look forward to getting into it.
