Hello from the Travel the World in Books Readathon! Where in the world has your reading been taking you these past few days?  Are you still hungry for the world’s best food after yesterday’s discussion all about food? I know I am, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Indian food!

If this is your first visit to our readathon posts, let me tell you that our Travel the World in Books readathon goal is quite simple…to get you reading more about other countries and cultures than your own. It’s both a learning opportunity and a great excuse to cozy up with a good book and travel to places you might not otherwise be able to visit!

My fabulous co-hosts Becca, Savvy, Lucy and Aloi and I have another great week in store for you, check out the entire schedule of events here to see what’s coming up and catch up on anything you missed.

Mini-Challenge

Today, my lovely co-host Lucy from Fictional 100 is hosting a mini-challenge featuring the characters she knows best and a giveaway too! Not only is Lucy a great supporter of the book blogging community, she’s also the author of The Fictional 100. “The Fictional 100 not only identifies those characters who have most influenced world literature, but also ranks them, judging each by his or her impact on literary history as well as popular culture.”

For today’s mini-challenge Lucy is encouraging us to share book covers featuring our favorite characters from around the world. Who would make your Fictional 100 list? Stop by Lucy’s blog to complete the Favorite Characters in Cover Art Mini-Challenge and GIVEAWAY!

This year we want to get YOU talking about your favorite books, authors, genres, and characters. Every day we’ll have a different topic of discussion. You can write a new blog post, link up a couple of old posts that are pertinent to the topic and/or leave comments answering our questions. Linkups will be open through 11/7/15 ( a week after the readathon ends to give you plenty of time to write a new post if you want).

Today’s discussion topic: Favorite YA/MG/Kidlit books or characters

The most beloved characters are often ones we identify with as children. Tell us which young adult, middle grade, or kid lit books or characters from around the world are your most beloved.
