Travel the World in Books Readathon September 1-14, 2014
Welcome to our first ever Travel the World in Books Readathon! Lost in Books, Savvy Working Gal and I have a fantastic couple of weeks in store for you to help you and your kids explore different countries around our world through books. So let me tell you what this Readathon is all about.
Purpose
Explore countries other than the one you live in. Read as much as you can of books set in a different country or by an author from a different country. Read for your own pleasure or learning, read with your kids or both. Travel the world from the comfort of your own home and learn about different cultures. Expand your horizons and show publishers that #WeNeedDiverseBooks to promote cultural understanding and diversity in our reading. Support diverse authors and books.
Dates
September 1-14, 2014. There is no requirement for how much to read, read as little or as much as you want during the two weeks. Just read!
Schedule
The schedule includes our Twitter and Facebook chats and fun mini-challenges. The schedule was updated for every great author interviews and creative guest posts we had for you so be sure to check it out!

Giveaways
Giveaways for books set in other countries or by authors from author countries will be open for the duration of the Readathon. You must sign up and be 18 years or older to enter to win.
Reading Challenge and Linkups
While you’re here, why not sign up for our Travel the World in Books Reading Challenge too? It’s as low stress as the readathon, you set your own goals for timing, countries to visit and how to keep track. There are also linkups for your goals, book reviews by continent and wrap up posts. If you’ve reviewed books during the readathon, go ahead and link up your reviews.
