Wicked Wildfire Read-a-thon Goals & Updates: Let’s Get Ready to Rrrrrread!
The lovely ladies at My Shelf Confessions are hosting another Wicked Wildfire Read-a-thon which started Friday June 7th and runs through June 14th.
Haven’t been to this read-a-thon before, here’s a little more info from their site:
The Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon is a time when we all get together to dedicate the days of June 7-14 to as much reading as possible. You read as much as you can in order to get yourself a little further through that huge to-read pile! We know real life gets in the way and even if you canโt participate more than one day, youโre welcome to join in on the fun!
In the meanwhile, we will be hosting book-related challenges where you can win some awesome prizes and have a Twitter party at the hashtag #WWReadathon! You can posts updates on your blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook โ as long as the profile is public and we all can enjoy your reading progress!
I’ve already missed the first Twitter chat today but hope I can make it for the next one. They have three challenges going on right now, including a jigsaw cover puzzle and a title scramble. I love puzzles and they look fun!
Here are my reading goals for this week:
Robinson Crusoe is my Classics Club Spin List selection and The Fifth Assassin is just for fun on audiobook.
Other goals for this week:
* Catch up on replying to comments these past two weeks, I don’t normally get so far behind!
* Write and schedule 2 book reviews
* Write and schedule 2 recipe reviews…did you know I blog about recipes I find that my family enjoys? Well I’ve been so obsessed with books lately, the recipes are piling up and we’ve been having some good eats lately I can’t wait to share with you. Clickย here for the recipes I’ve posted so far.
Well that sounds like a busy week to me. What have you got going on this week? Drop me a line when you have the time! As always, happy reading!
Great goals! Best of luck! I love to read, so will probably join in on one soon!
Tanya–I highly recommend Leonard Pitts, Jr.s’ “Freeman.” It is an unbelievable novel (but if you’ve already read it, I don’t have to tell you that).
An escaped slave, living in Philadelphia, decides (right after the Civil War ends) that he is going to walk 1,000 miles into the south to find the wife he has not seen or heard from in 15 years. This is a book I have been telling complete strangers about (in airports and restaurants).
If you like scary stuff, Joe Hill’s “Heart Shaped Box” grabs you at the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the very end. (I promise.) His newest “NOS4A2” is incredible as well (I still have 100 pages to go). Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son and does NOT disappoint.
A wicked readathon…sound like a rollicking good time.
I hope you had a lot of fun! I’m following your blog and I was wondering if you could do this tag that I created called Blogging Things I Suck At. You can find out all the details and more at the post on my blog here. I really hope you can do it.

Hows the readathon going? I’ve never done one but always been curious. And I can’t wait to see what recipes you cook up ๐
Thanks Tanya. Readathon is a big bust this time unfortunately. Just been in a slump lately, adjusting to my stay at home mom role and dealing with a sick youngin to kick off the summer. This week has not quite gone as planned, but does it ever? ๐ Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Tanya! I saw this readathon a few days ago but I just can’t devote that much time to reading right now. Maybe next time! Good luck with your reading.
I came by to officially thank you for signing up for the blogathon again. I just know this one will be the best and I’m so excited to have you join in again.
Thanks Kathleen, well I signed up but haven’t done much at all. Boo. Life got in the way this time, let’s hope I have better luck with blogathon!
Sounds like a great plan! glad to discover your blog, Tanya!
Good luck and enjoy!!!
Great goals ๐ Hope you achieve them all ๐
